2019 Gourmet Lunchbox Lunch

Gourmet Lunchbox Lunch: Featuring Autism Self-Advocate and Nascar Driver Armani Williams
Now in its twelfth year, ABC of NC’s Gourmet Lunchbox Lunch will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Millennium Center (101 West Fifth Street, Winston-Salem). This year, ABC of NC presents Armani Williams, a Detroit-based NASCAR driver with autism. Williams is now part of the NASCAR stable of talented upcoming drivers. He is using his racing career as a platform to draw awareness to autism, promote research-based solutions, and create better life outcomes for families impacted by the disorder. Armani has competed coast-to-coast in the United States and throughout Canada.
ABC of NC’s Gourmet Lunchbox Lunch, the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, introduces the community to ABC of NC and the services available to children with autism and their families. Past Gourmet Lunchbox Lunches have featured Dr. Maya Angelou (2013); Ron Suskind, author of Life, Animated (2014); Jason Katims, creator and executive producer of the hit television show Parenthood (2015); Doug Flutie, football great and autism parent (2016); Matt Savage, autism self-advocate and jazz pianist (2017); and Mickey Rowe, autism self-advocate and professional actor (2018). Each year, the lunch attracts more than 500 attendees and raises vital financial support to sustain and advance ABC of NC. This year, the support we receive is more critical than ever, as we double our service capacity.
