Parent Workshop: Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training ABC of NC 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

This informational workshop is designed for parents and caregivers who are involved in the life of an individual who is served by a school or other organization where Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training is utilized in the staff development. The purpose of this workshop is to provide parents and other caregivers with:

  • An understanding of the philosophy of Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security, which is the cornerstone of the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training program.
  • An overview of some of the concepts and strategies taught in the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention program that could aid the continuity of a person’s support and care.
  • Knowledge about the realities involved in the use of physical restraints.
The cost of the workshop includes a Sharing Strategies participant workbook and three informational booklets in the “A Guide for Parents” series that include The Art of Setting Limits, Managing Your Own Anger, and The Power of Listening.

The total cost of the workshop is: $25.00 per person.
